Description

206 Dundas comprises two historic buildings -the former Allen/Capitol Theatre built in 1920, possibly with designs by theatre architect Howard Crane; and the Bowles Lunch Building, built in 1928 in a sympathetic style theatre neighbour. Today, the exterior facades of both buildings have been restored /rehabilitated to reflect their original glory and to highlight their importance in the Dundas Streetscape. The interiors of both buildings have been renovated to provide for their current uses by the City of London Planning Division.

DO London Experience

Visitors to the Planning Division will have an opportunity to tour the interior of both buildings and to view exhibits related to the activities of the Planning Division, within the City’s Planning and Development Department. These activities relate to designing urban spaces including the conversion of heritage properties and, more generally, to implement the City’s Official Plan Policies. The weekend provides visitors with a better awareness of the role of Planning in the city administration.
